in French class we're studying french artists who influenced French culture and the world. i and my friend Christina Cirelli are researching a french photographer named Cartier-Bresson -- he's pretty incredible. this is one of my favorite pictures of his.

um, aren't all pictures "fleeting moments forever frozen on film"? I don't know if that's really a singular specialty of Bresson.

yes, but i find that bresson's photo's are often of moments that are particularly brief. another favorite of mine of his is one where there's a man stepping fully clothed into a pond. the photo captures him just before he hits the water, his reflection still on the undisturbed water. another good one is of someone speeding around a corner on a bicycle.
in my photo class we recently discussed bresson and how he was famous in the photography world for coining the phrase "peak of action" (aka all those fleeting moments) :)
